  2. Dress

    Long ago men wore sleeve-waistcoats when they were working in the fields. The sleeves were made of grey or white flannel.
    When the women worken in the fields they wore a large red or paisley handkerchief-folded from corner to corner on their heads and tied under the chin.
    In cold weather they wore knitted "crossovers" a triangular garment - folded across the breast.
