On one occasion he was preaching a sermon on hell, and after describing the punishment and torment of hell, he concluded something like this
"People of Baslic! whenever any of you is tempted to commit some shameful act remember the punishment and pain of hell, and if that thought does not deter you, remember the blackthorn stick which I keep, specially, to correct the wrongdoer."
