  1. About five miles from the City of Kilkenny in a district called Clara is situated a castle about which an old legend is told.
    Almost 200 years ago a widowed mother and her two sons lived in the Castle. They had a very big black dog called Nero. One night when the sons had gone to bed and the mother was ironing in the kitchen a black dog came and pranced around her. She immediately picked up the lamp and went up stairs to her bedroom and got her sword and came dow. When the dog has disappeared as mysteriously as he appeared she told her sons not to leave their rooms
