- John Cahill a carpenter was mending the tiles of the Chapel of Inistioge, when he fell down as far as the shoot. He grabbed the shoot and held on until some one came to his assistance. The next time Father Hennessey who was at that time parish priest of Inistioge met him he said, "well John, what were you thinking of when you were falling." John replied, "I was thinking Father that from the shoot down I'd catch it right."
