  1. One terrible stormy night around Christmas Mrs. Walsh Brittas, Inistioge made for Inistioge to do her shopping. When she was coming out of the town after her shopping it was very dark. With the light of Mr. Phealan's shop shining on the river she mistook it for the road. She walked into the river and was swept away by the great flood. About eleven weeks later while Mr. T. Delahaunty was fishing he saw a body on the island further down the river. Her son Michael Walsh recognized the body as that of his mother.
