  1. The Gibbet Hill
    There were three men in olden times who were called "stocking men". They went from place to place to earn a living by selling stockings. While they were in this country one man disappeared from his two companions. A search was made for him. But no trace ... of him could be got for a long time.
    When a man was crossing over Rawbows bog he put his foot on a log, as he thought of oak, in a drain, and to his surprise it was the missing dead man's body. He was taken out of the drain and identified by a pair of shoe buckles he was wearing. The buckles were
