Then he went out to the river for a drink but Fionn's wife threw an arrow into the water and it floated down to where giant was drinking and it choked him. Fionn was very angry when he heard the foul way in which his enemy was put to death and he gave his wife a good scolding.
- Halloweve night falls on the last night of October. On that day my mother goes to town and she buys apples, nuts and a barn-brack. The barn-brack is a lovely cake with a lot of currants and raisins in it. There is always a ring in it.(continues on next page)
