    a robbin fluttered over the cross and that is how he got his red breast. The robbins build their nests in the sides of ditches. They lay about five eggs and when the eggs are hatched for a fortnight the young birds come out. The larks build their nests in the bogs and they are seldom seen on land. In this locality the wrens build their nests in the eaves of houses. their eggs are never interfered with because if they were touched by a person's hands the wren would move them to another place. Another bird which is seldom seen in this district is called the blue Bottle. This bird builds her next in the wall of an old barn. The thrush builds her nest in a hedge or on a high bush. The local people say that it is never lucky to interfere with a thrushes nest because the thrush is a harmless bird. The swallows are usually
