    The words of the following song were obtained from Micheál Mac Cárthaig Drom-Fhosta, Drom Dhá Liag
    Do sgriobhas an amhrán seo 1937 Deire Fóghmhair

    Micheál told me that as far as he knew this song was made by Con O Mahony of Clashcluve(?) already mentioned in this collection. The song was composed the time of the Land League and never appeared in print.

    You know I was some time hard up
    And thats a good man's case
    Some of them tell me to join the police
    But no I would rather die
    For in heart and hand and in every band
