So the graves are open to the present day and the coffins can be seen inside. There were also heavy duties placed on Irish goods and smuggling went on all around the Irish coast. Hundreds of smugglers succeeded in carrying wool to France, and in bringing in shiploads of wine, brandy, silk, tobacco, and many other things.
