  1. There are very few poets now living around here. Long ago there were many poets there but their songs and poems were never written down because at that time the people were hardly able to write atall. In some places you would travel very far before you would find a person who would be able to make a poem.
There is a poet buried in Kimeen burial ground names "Séan Ó Coilleán" or John Collins. He was born somewhere near Clonakilty. He was a farmer. He made many Irish songs and poems which were never written down. There are some old people who could yet tell some verses of songs and poems which he composed.
He died some years ago and was buried in Kilmeen The people errected a head stone in his memory. There was a storm some years ago which knocked a tree on the head-stone and broke it.
