    in a high tree. the pidgeon builds her nest in a high tree. The Robin builds her nest in the bushes. The jackdaw builds her nest in the chimneys of houses. The magpie builds her nest in a high tree.
    The thrush builds hers in a hole in the wall and in ivy. I do not know where the Curlew builds her nest. the wren builds her nest in houses. She makes it with hay and wool. the swan builds her nest in an island in the water. She makes her nest with rushes and grass.
    I do not know where the wild geese build their nests. The water hen builds her nest in bogs and in sedge places. I do not know what she makes it with. The ball coot builds her nest on a wall if the wall is near or in the middle of water. She makes it with rushes and straw.
    It is said that when Our Lord was dying the robin tried to pull the nails from his hands and feet, and the thorns from his head. a drop of blood fell on the robins breast and ever since the robin is called the Robin Red Breast.
