    Coosane. Prish = Bantry Barony= Bantry.
    No of dwelling houses now - 11

    The houses are all slated except one thatched house in which a family still live.
    Coosán meaning is diddicult to ascertain. Some say it means the 'Path' from casán. Others say that it means 'little cave' (It is a small townland situated among & between hills.
    Over 70 living :- There are only two people over 70 still living in the townland of Coosane.
    Speak Irish. One of those speaks Irish V. G. & also English.
    Name of Irish speaker. Mrs Daniel Leary Coosane ( 7 yrs
    Kealkil, Bantry.
    Old Cabhlacs :- There are a good number of Ruins of houses in this townland.
    America:- Several person from this townland used to go to America
