They continued their way to Bandon and had to cross a river where there was no bridge.
Someone offered the Priest a horse to ride while crossing the river, another one objected and the Priest had to walk in to the river to cross and he got all wet.
He wished that man that he would die walking and so he did. He had to be put into a room and never rested only kept walking until he died.
The first man on his return journey called again to the same public house in quarries cross, and asked for a pint. He got porter in a glass and just as he took it it turned into blood and he could not drink it, so immediately he dropped dead.
