  1. One day a priest went into a shop to buy a hat. There was another customer in the shop along with the priest. The shopkeeper asked a pound for the hat and the priest said "by God" that is a very dear hat. The shopkeeper said "I never knew a priest could curse". The priest said " I say "by God" every day at Mass.
    I will give you this hat free if you say it at Mass to-morrow for I know you do not say such a thing. Very well said the priest be at Mass early to-morrow and be in the front seat. The man came to Mass in the morning bringing the new hat with him.
