  1. There was once a woman by the name of Mary Fitzgerald who fell seriously ill. The son went for the priest about midnight. He called for the priest who answered saying he would be there in a half hour. He got ready his horse and rode off. He had not gone far when he met the devil in the shape of a dog He started barking at the priest. The priest put his legs up on the horse's neck. At last the priest got the best of him. The devil knowing he was defeated vanished. There was sweat dropping of the horse.
