    Have you heard of that grand combination,
    That hurl the ball on the green?
    Though their club is of recent formation,
    they're a sturdy and gallant fifteen.
    Like the charge of great Sarsfield resounding,
    when the ranks of the Prussians he tore.
    At the goal posts they gamely keep pounding,
    the hurlers of sweet Donoughmore.

    Then hurrah for those gallant young heroes,
    some live down by ancient Rylane.
    We will drink up a glass for to cheer us,
    here's a health to those young lads of brawn.
    Don't talk of your runners from Finland,
    nor the fame of old Oscar of yore.
    But just watch the deeds of a young man,
    who hails down from sweet Donoughmore.

    They could score through the rungs of a ladder,
    at an angle of sixty degrees.
    Their heart is as light as a feather,
    let loose in a ninety mile breeze.
    And their foot is as fleet as a roebuck,
