   The path field was so called because there is a path in it.
   '' Micheál'sfield '' was so called because there was a man by the name of Michael living there.
   The names of some of the fields in the next farm are, '' the stoney field,'' and the well meadow.
   The stoney field was so called because it is very stoney.
   The well meadow was so called because there is a spring well in it.
   There is a very big rock in John Linehan land beside the th river. It is about sixty ft. high and two hundred ft. long.

   My home is in the townland of Knockanebane which means little white hill. It is so called because there is a hill which i- at highest point is one-thousand ,- one -hundred- and thirty feet high. (1130 feet ). In Summer it is almost all covered with soft white flowers which are the blossoms of a [ coars] coarse grass called canovane. Hence it goth the name of Knockanebane.
