  1. Hidden Treasure
On some nights I used to hear my grandmother telling us stories of hidden treasure.
One of the stories is, that there was supposed to be a pot of gold about two on the west side of Kanturk in a townland called Ardrahan in the parish of Dromtariffe. Several people have seen a light rising near a small quarry and going on the course of a small stream.
The pot of gold is supposed to have been put there by the Danes because when there were some Danes hunted the buried a pot of gold there, and since then a light is seen there every night. The value of the pot of gold is supposed to be two thousand pounds.
