    The animals are also good weather prophets. If it is going to rain the cows go into shelter.
    If a mountain looks blue and nearer than usual we will have rain. If we are going to have a gale the dust on the road will rise and make the "Fairy winds".
    A sign of good weather is if the birds fly high.

  2. There are many beliefs in Ireland about the weather. If wild geese are seen flying from the West it is a sign of rain.
    The following is a list of weather signs as observed in the sky.
    The Sun: People say that if the sun is very bright when it is rising in the morning, that it will be a fine day. They also say, that if the sun is red when it is setting, that there will be frost on that night
