- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)gravediggers went to work. With all the precautions mistakes were sometimes made, unknowingly. Often people were buried in "the wrong graves". When friends from afar met friends from near the graveyard at a fair or meeting the far-away friend would never forget to ask if their graves at Nohoral or the Old Chapel were alright. One member of the family took it upon himself to visit the ground at intervals or on the occasion of a funeral to that burying ground. Perhaps on one of these visits he discovered signs of 'fresh digging' in his family plot and knew that there was something wrong - no immediate relative had been buried recently. He made enquiries and in this fashion the error was discovered. The people who made the mistake are notified and a re-enterment takes place - but it is done quietly and after night-fall The friends guarded their burial places jealously and Lealously. Any encroachment led to bitter quarrels. (g) Often when means of communication was dead - When the death was expected the news was readily believed and on more than one occasion the 'Protector of the Graves' which I have referred to at (F) got the gravediggers to work(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
