- Addn.: The wheaten bread was baked on a griddle. Very old people remember querns. Potato-cake is still made by a few. The cross was put on the cake to make it "rise".
- Addn.: Bread was made of oaten-meal & of wheaten flour & bran. Milk & water were added during the kneading. Bread was baked every day. It was baked in front of the fire.
