    1847. There was no Blessed Sacrament in this church until three years ago. It was repaired in 1935. The church that was built before this one was only a little thatched hut built in a corner of Mr. Rea’s field.
    There is also a school in Knockanevin. It is eighty eight years old. It was built in 1850. It was the first national school in Knockanevin. The school before this one was called a hedge school.
    There is a stream dividing Knockanevin from Darragh. Is is called the Abhann na gCaoraigh stream. It is so called because in olden days the people used to wash their sheep in the stream. It is a very shallow stream.
    There is one main road in Knockanevin and there are a lot of roads branching out of it. The land in Knockanevin is very suitable for growing potatoes, turnips, mangolds, wheat, oats and
