Long ago people were very quick for making pishogues. They used to work these spells on their neighbours if they wanted to harm them.The women used to change themselves into the form of animals and go through the country and destroy their neighbours’ crops. Tradition has it that there lived a woman in Knockanevin and she was a farmer’s wife. She used to make butter from the cow’s milk. After a while she could not make the cream become butter and it is believed that there was a craftswoman nearby and she used to(continues on next page)- Collector
