is seen guarding the treasure to this day, so when the man had dug for some time, he was confronted by the black dog.
The dog commenced barking loudly, and the man fearing that someone might hear the noise, thought it better to abandon his search. He was greatly frightened and rushed home, and the dog followed him to the fence, and there he vanished.
Any further attempts were not made to recover the gold, and it still lays there undisturbed.
