- A good racing top can be made out of a cotton reel by getting a round piece of stick and point it evenly. Then push the stick through the reel and place a small nail at the end of the reel.
A pop gun can easily be made from an elder branch. Get a piece of elder about a half inch thick and about a foot long. Bore out the inside with a red iron. Then get a straight stick twice the length of the barrel and a little smaller in size than the inside of the barrel. Place some cloth over the end of the stick and bind it tightly with twine. This stick is to shoot out the cork which is places in one end of the gun.
