There is a story told locally of a famous racehorse of this district. He was owned by the late Mr. Bob Hayes of Bayview Carrigaline. The horse's name was "Buchaill Oge". This horse won nearly every race he went in. He won two races at the Cummeen Steeplechases the same day. He also won many races in other parts of Ireland. This horse ran in the Grand National in England and was leading at the last fence(continues on next page) - Collector
