  2. Marriages usually take place during Shrove, and on Shrove Tuesday many marriages take place. The lucky days are Tuesday for wealth, and Wednesday the best day of all. Thursday and Friday are supposed to be unlucky. If the bride see's a lamb, a dove, or a spider on the road on her way to the church it is a sign of luck any shade of blue is also supposed to bring good luck, If the bride should find a spider it is a sign of plenty.
