“Long ago the people did not buy much.”
Long ago, the people did not buy much. They made baskets from strong rushes and straw. They made sweeping brushes from the heath in the logs, and put handles of strong sticks on them. They made polishing brushes from the horses hair, and put boarded backs on them. Mrs. Keneally of Knocktoosh made polishing brushes. Everyone made them long ago, but no one makes them now except those living in the bogs.Jeremiah Forde
