  1. Three meals a day were the most the people ever had long ago. The first meal was taken in the morning, second about 12 ' o clock in the day, and the third meal about 7.30 in the night. People always worked in the morning before eating. The breakfast consisted of potatoes and milk. The food they ate for the dinner was cabbage or turnips and potatoes. The table was by the wall, and the people sat around it. Meat was only eaten on two days a week on Sundays and
