  1. There is a treasure, supposed to have been hidden in the lands of Mr. Fitzgerald in our district. It is in a certain place known as Cappagh Castle. It is about one hundred yards in from the road.
    It is not generally known, by whom it was placed there, or for what purpose. There are attempts supposed to have been made to unearth it, but all attempts have failed. The buried treasure consisted of a pot of gold.
    The attempt to discover the gold, was made by a man living near the castle. He dreamt three nights
