    They are called that because long ago every Sunday morning and evening people used to pray there.
    One day a woman washed clothes in the wells and they dried up and removed to "Lough Gorm" the blue lake.

  2. The Askeaton fairs are held in the streets of Askeaton. They are held every month. Long ago a fair used be held in Stonehall once a year. The fairs are held in a special fair place. There is always luck-money given when an animals is sold it is called toll.
    The cattle are marked with raddle and by chipping on the side of the the animal. There is not any special fair for the sale of sheep bonhams or cattle.
