    Clare to make rounds. Dr Moloney, a great Bishop of the Penal times, also came and was cured.
    During the Penal times when the churches were few and priests were none the people of the locality came to the well and did their rounds just as they do to-day.

  2. Old houses in the district were thatched and the thatch was made of wheaten straw and reed.
    The houses had beds in the kitchen and these beds were called settle-beds.
