    (8) In winter if red clouds are seen in the sky that is a sign of storm.
    (9) If the moon shines very brightly and if there is one very dim star close by this is a sign of rain.
    (10) If the dog sits close to the fire.
    (11) Red sky in the mornings. (12) When the Curlew whistles.
    (13) When swans are seen in the rivers.
    Frost.
    (1) When there is a blue flame in the sky it is a sign of frost.
    (2) Blue sky and very bright stars.
    (3) when flies creep into walls and ceilings this is a sign of frost.
    Some of the weather signs are contradictory - if swallows fly low has been given as a sign of dry weather also.
    The east wind is the most harmful as it is supposed to bring with it sickness and disease. The west wind brings rain.
