    Daley Hill. It is so called because of the number of dale trees and stumps that are growing on the hill.
    Rushy Moor. This place derives its name from all the rushes growing in that marshy place.
    Ballyknock, means the town on the hill and is so called because it is on a slight elevation
    Barna means a gap.

    Gurtfeddy means "gort fada" or the "long field"
    Bunker's Hill in Ryan's farm is supposed to be the scene of a battle.
    Brickyard, in Longorchard is supposed to have a brick factory long ago.
    Jane's Field. There lived an old woman there long ago and a song is composed about her.
    The Derry, in Corrig bog, got its name from a small grove in the bog.
