  1. (continued from previous page)
    It was of late that this old horse
    He happened for to stray ;
    And to the parish of Templetouhy
    He safely made his way.
    'Twas here he sported for a while ;
    On the roadside night and day ,
    Until a farmer called 'The Gander'
    Took him off to Boulearea.
    With 'the Gander' and 'Long Paddy'
    Sure this horse worked like a lad ,
    'Till the village chaps they found it out
    They all went nearly mad.
    They brought him back the poor old horse
    They stole him oats and hay,
    And they kept him for a gentry hunt
    That was on St. Patricks day.
    It been the seventeenth of March,
    The Spring was drawing nigh;
    Those Farmers were delighted
    And they clapped their hands with joy ,
    Saying now we have a noble friend
    Who will not us despise,
    He will save a pound per week for us
    And we wont want servant boys.
