- There were different herbs used for curing different ailments. The Wartweed was used to cure warts. Robin Run the Hedge is a cure for biles and carbuncles. This is a sticky weed with small green berries attached to it. It grows in a creeping manner along hedges. Rib grass is a cure for ringworms. Cranes Bill is a cure for tetters. It is found in ditches.
