  1. (continued from previous page)
At the end of the stairs there is a glen, it is said if you crossed over the glen you could never come back. On the lands where the cave is a man lived there one time by himself. One day a sheep came to the lands and the man could not put her away. The time came and she had two lambs and the year after the sheep had two lanbs and the first two lambs who had now grown up to be sheep had two lambs each also.
This Xmas came and an old tinker came to the man. The man told him that he had a sheep to kill for Xmas. The man told him to catch the sheep for him. The two men went out in the field where the sheep were. The tinker made off after the sheep. The sheep bleated and all her comrades and herself made for the cave, they crossed the glen and the tinker crossed it after them. Neither the sheep or the tinker ever came back again.
