- Long ago the people used to see many gehosts in all sorts of shapes. Some times it was a dog or a cat and at other times it was a white deer. Once upon a time there lived a man about a hundred yards from Phelan's of Lackin. He was a great friend of Ned Phelan and he used to come cuairdeact every night to his house.
He usually went up to the cross near Phelan's house every night before he went home. This night as he was walking up towards the cross he saw queer lights coming over the road. He stood looking at the lights and the lights stood also. He then went home.
Next morning Mrs Halley came in with a word that his brother near Clonmel was dead. So he often said to himself that 'twas his brother was coming to say "Good Bye" to him.- Informant
