- Our house is nearly the oldest one on the road. It must be about a couple of hundred years built.
There is a stone in the front wall of the house. It is 12 inches long and from 9 inches to 11 inches wide, and about 2 1/2 inches thick. It is 19 inches from the wall.
This stone was put there for the horsemen long ago to mount their horses. They used to get up on the stone and jump on to the horse's back. The stone is in the wall, but is never used for that purpose now.- Collector
