  1. We have no griddle at home, but we had one a couple of years ago, but Uncle Ned got it. They do not use it for baking, but they have it at the back of the fire. It is a flat piece of iron like this.

    Long ago the people used to eat griddle bread. It was white bread, but it was not very thick. They didn't leave the griddle down flat on the fire, but they had a stand under it. It was a thing like this.
    It was made of iron. We have the stand yet.
