“On the seventh of November ¶ My chum and I waked out”
On the seventh of November,
My chum and I waked out,
To tell about some private things,
What ever they were about,
He says to me dear John,
Its now just half past four.
Wee'l steer our steps right straight away,
To the school house of Moymore,II
We landed there quite safely.
And the same you'd like to hear,
They gave us a hearty welcome,
And bade us have no fear,
They said they had bags of every thing,
That all would be supplied.
But at three that very morning,
Meley nearely died.III
The tea began at ten oclock,
At the house beside the school.
The ladies were envited first,
To taste the boiling gruel,
It physiced all the second batch,
That numbered twenty four,
And so that's the entertainment,
