The following day Seán Keane complained his case to the Parish Priest Father Barry. He gave him a "ticket" and told him to go to the fort at midnight and leave the "ticket" on it and wait for the answer.
He did as he was directed to do and his own child was handed out to him. He then proceeded home to find the cradle empty and the "Cásacán" gone.
Keane's child grew up to be a man and was known to several old people in the district. One of those told me that young Keane emigrated to America, when he was about twenty five years old.- Collector
