    chimneys blows down or if soot falls from the chimneys into the fire and if blue lights are seen in the fire these are also the sign of rain.
    If the reflection in water makes long lights and when seals are seen in Carlingford Lough or if ditches and drains smell stronger than usual or if old and rheumatic complain of their corns and joints hurting them all these are signs of rain.
