We make a ring on the ground and about six feet from it we have "footings", that is a line drawn behind which we stand.
The game can be played single-handed, that is every boy playing for himself, or by partners, that is, two boys, playing as if there were only one. Therefore if twelve boys in the game were playing partners there would be six teams.
