8.6.1938 - McHugh's fort is the only one in my district. It is in the townland of Reaghstown. It is round in shape.
This fort is supposed to contain a lot of gold. One night a man dreamed that if he killed a sheep and dragged it round the fort the black tom-cat, which guarded it, would come out and drink the sheep's blood. When he got up in the morning he went and killed a sheet and dragged its body round the fort. The tom-cat came out and started to drink the sheep's blood.
