- A ship one time was coming from Dublin to Belfast. Just as they were passing Clogherhead a storm rose. There were only three men on the ship along with the captain, and he was a Protestant.
One of the men jumped into the sea and swam to Clogherhead.
They threw a rope out to them, and pulled them in. The captain said that he would either see hell or Belfast that night, so he stayed on the ship, and it sank and he was drowned.
A light can be seen there ever since, but when men go out it disappears.- Informant
