    Long ago before candles existed people got light from old rushes which grow along the hedges and in marshy places. The people would plait rushes and make them about as thick as a candle. The plaited rushes would be skined and put into greece.

  2. There are not many old marriage customs around this district. There are certain times of the year for marriages to take place. It is said to be lucky in the months of May and August. The days that are lucky are Wednesday and Tuesday.
