The games I like best are There we go gathering nuts in May and fox and geese. This is how fox and geese is played. Four girls stand in the middle of the playground. They are supposed to be the foxes. The girls at the wall are the geese. The girls at the wall run down to the other wall. If they are caught before they reach the wall they then have to catch the other girls as well. - In the year 1846 - 47 there was a great famine. It effected the district very much, and left many poor people in misery.
There were five hundred people in my district before the famine, and there are only two hundred in it now.
The people died in the houses, in the fields, and along the road sides.
There was a green mark around these poor peoples mouths from eating grass and nettles. In the year 1846 the potato crop(continues on next page)- Collector
