  1. The old people long ago were very holy and religious. They did all the work in the name of God. They also made prayers some of these prayers still exist in the district.
    When rising in the morning the old people said the following prayer.
    "God bless me and save me mark me with divine graces and save me from a sudden or unprovided death".
    Before going to bed they would say this prayer.
    "As now I lay down my head to sleep
    I give my soul to God to keep
    God within God without
    There are four corners on my bed
    There are four Angels around my head
    Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
    God bless the bed that I lay on
    If any evil thing come near me
